Logistics study on the attractiveness of Wallonia for international logistics hubs

According to a study carried out in June 2017 by PwC, Wallonia is 4th among 50 regions in Europe in terms of attractiveness for logistics players and # 1 at the Belgian level. The podium is occupied by the Saar in front of the Rhineland Palatinate and the South of the Netherlands. Luxembourg is ranked 5th in this study based on key criteria in the establishment of a distribution center:

  • Proximity to the market: purchasing power and economic activities
  • Work: availability, flexibility, productivity, employer-employee relationship
  • Operational costs: cost of energy, labor, real estate
  • Distribution infrastructure: IT, proximity to cargo airports, seaports, density of the road network, waterways and railways
  • The availability of land: industrial and building zones
  • Regulation and taxes: political stability, administrative obligations, freedom to invest, transparency, efficiency
  • Skills: language skills and logistics expertise.
