With a score of 610 points, Luxembourg ranks 11th in the EF ranking on the English Proficiency Index (EPI) in non-mother tongue countries.
In 2019, the country ranked 9th. Nevertheless, EF reports that Luxembourg has a very good proficiency of the Shakespearean language, and numbers it in the 12 countries in the world considered to have a “very high” level of English skills. At the European level, the country ranks 10th out of 34. The "English champion" title is awarded to the Netherlands (652 points), followed by Denmark (632) and Finland (631).
