On 9th November 2022, the Cluster for Logistics Luxembourg hosted the 6th edition of the Lean & Green Awards at the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce and presented the Lean & Green Awards 2022 in presence of Mr Claude Turmes, Minister of Energy and Spatial Planning. At this year’s Lean & Green Awards 2022, three additional companies were awarded for their efforts and achievements regarding the reduction of CO2 emissions generated from transport and logistics activities.
The Lean & Green programme welcomes a new 2 Star Winner. LuxairCARGO managed to reduce its CO2 consumption by more than 30 percent compared to 2012. The company was a forerunner in the programme and received the label in 2015 and the first star award in 2018. Among other measures, the company replaced their freezer units with more efficient models and installed modern lighting in the Cargocenter.
Furthermore, 2 companies have decided to join the Lean & Green initiative in Luxembourg in 2022. Karp-Kneip and Eurogaume have set up audited and eligible action plans that provide both companies the framework to reduce their CO2 emissions from transport and logistics activities by at least 20% within the coming 5 years. For the commitment of joining the program and developing individual action plans to allow to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, both companies were awarded the Lean & Green Label.
