The Ministry of Culture carries out national and international cultural policy.
It is in charge of protecting our cultural Heritage (religious buildings, national monuments, etc.), promoting artistic creation and the creative industries, coordinating the cultural institutions of the state (national Library, national museums, archives, etc.).
It collaborates with UNESCO and takes part in many regional and interregional cultural agreements.
Responsibilities
In the context of international trade, the Ministry of Culture is in charge of providing, in collaboration with the Customs and Excise Administration, the uniform control of cultural goods at the outside borders of the European Union and delivers as necessary, export licenses.
